Our preschool, Vienna Baptist Children’s Center is a ministry of the Vienna Baptist Church open to all children of different developmental ages and stages. Our children discover and learn about the world around them through dramatic play, blocks, toys, games, art, sensory areas, music and movement. Literacy is developed through stories, songs, finger plays, puppets, and daily interactions with teachers and peers. As cognitive skills increase, teachers provide exciting opportunities to problem solve, create, discover, experiment and wonder. Within our learning format children also grow to understand that they are responsible for their actions. They learn to care for each other.
At our school the playground is called The Savannah. It is an extension of our learning environment – an outdoor classroom. We have a dedicated teacher whose sole responsibility is to teach in this natural environment. Here children learn to enjoy time outside running, climbing, exploring, pedaling, building, hauling, pulling, jumping and fully engaging their large muscles. The Savannah is one of our most unique and important play spaces.
Please take the time to read about our philosophy regarding children as well as about the curriculum that we have in place here for all of our children at VBCC.
